Ok, so many are having issues downloading the correct client and copying characters to the Beta realm (Premade characters and own characters) since the new Battle.net site has been launched.

This post is intended to aid you in this task. Please bear in mind, I am not a Blizzard employee and whilst I may be able to help with some issues, you may still require more specialized assistance via Blizzard Technical personnel.

The most common error when downloading the client (and indeed attempting to copy characters), is that Battle.net uses the language you are using on the site to ascertain which region you are in. i.e. Europe / America / Korea etc and will download the client to you on this basis. It is therefore vital that you check the language settings before downloading or attempting to copy premade or existing Characters to the Beta Server.

Downloading the Client
Log into Battle.net at http://eu.battle.net
Click "Account"
You will then see at the top right the language currently selected as per this image:-



For EU players it must be set exactly as the image above. If yours is currently showing anything different, click "Change" and select "English (EU)" from the Europe Column list as per the image below:-



Once you have the correct language setting, select your "World of Warcraft: Cataclysm Beta" account as per the image below:-



This will take you to a new page:-


Again, check your language settings on the top right as it sometimes resets. Correct it if necessary using the instructions as above.

Now, BEFORE using the download link, notice that under the words "Download Game Client" is yet another language setting. This is most likely set as English (US). Click on "Change" and you will receive this screen where you can select the English (EU) version download.



Click on the Windows icon (For PC) or the MAC icon (For Mac) icon on the right to begin downloading.

PTR Character Copy

By far the most common errors when using this service are:-

      Language / Region in Battle.net
      Browser Issues



Language Settings
Log into Battle.net at http://eu.battle.net
Click "Account"
You will then see at the top right the language currently selected as per this image:-

Again, check your language settings on the top right as it sometimes resets. Correct it if necessary using the instructions as above.

Then you should be able to use the PTR Character Copy link on the page successfully.

Browser Issues
Many have experienced issues with the PTR Character Copy pages simply refreshing each time you click on the copy character button. This is usually an issue with your browser cache or cookies. The simplest route around this issue is to use a different browser for the character copy process.
